Description

Florida leads the nation in the use of prescribed fire. This technique is used to mimic the fires that would occur naturally in the state. Nearly a century of fire suppression across the country has led to larger, more devastating wildfires. Regular prescribed fires lead to less fuel for fires and less intense fires in the future. Learn how these fires are planned, what equipment is used and the benefits it provides. This program will be held in the Art Hall in the historic settlement. Program is free with park entry fee.
