The Lehigh and Northampton Chapter of the Pennsylvania Association for the Education of Young Children (PennAEYC) is hosting a screening and discussion of the film No Small Matter, which is the first feature documentary to explore the most overlooked, underestimated, and powerful force for good in America today: early childhood education.
Rachel Giannini, a preschool teacher featured in the film, will discuss ways people can advocate for families to be able to access and afford high-quality child care. For Ms. Giannini the wild ride began in 2015, while teaching Pre-K, when she was approached by a documentary film crew working on a piece about early childhood education. For 8 weeks her "Yellow Room" was filmed everyday for the feature length documentary No Small Matter. With the film complete and a Masters in Museum Education under her belt, she now focuses her attention on how she can use social media to connect with parents, caregivers, and educators across the globe. You can follow her educational adventures through her Youtube channel, NoSmallMatter.com.
This is your chance to be part of a national movement that highlights the importance of early childhood education in Pennsylvania.
