Please join Mayor Jim Kenney; the Office of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy; the Leon H. Sullivan Charitable Trust; and Philadelphia International Airport for the renaming of the airport's Arrivals Hall and the dedication of a permanent exhibit honoring the legacy of Reverend Dr. Leon H. Sullivan. Born on October 16, 1922, Rev. Dr. Leon H. Sullivan was a civil rights and social justice leader who advocated for social and economic equity through job and entrepreneurial training, investing in Black owned businesses, community and housing development, and so much more. As the creator of the Global Sullivan Principles, Leon H. Sullivan promoted corporate social responsibility to help people overcome poverty and oppression, and advance universal human rights in all parts of the world. He also started the Opportunities Industrialization Centers of America, which today has a network of more than 30 job training centers across the country. This event will honor Leon H. Sullivan’s global impact as part of his centennial celebration happening this October. The event will include remarks, the opening of the permanent exhibit, the unveiling of the renamed Arrivals Hall, and a reception with light refreshments. Please follow current City of Philadelphia COVID-19 guidelines when in attendance. Registration is required to attend and space is limited. RSVP by October 4. Venue Directions International Arrivals Hall is located on the 3rd floor of the Philadelphia International Airport Terminal A-West. Public Transit Guests taking SEPTA should exit the train at Terminal A and enter A-East baggage directly across the platform. Elevators to access International Arrivals Hall are located at the opposite end of the baggage claim and to the left. Guests should take the elevators to the third floor. SEPTA trains run every 30 minutes. SEPTA Airport Line service information can be found at SEPTA.org. Public Parking Guests driving to PHL should follow signs for parking garages (the arrivals side of the airport) and park in the Terminal A garage. Guests can access International Arrivals by taking the garage elevator to the 3rd floor, or by walking to the entrance if parked on the 3rd level.
