TAMPA, FL — Five people were injured in a shooting at a Citgo Service Station early Tuesday morning. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has released few details but did say there were no fatalities, although five people were wounded. According to deputies, a large group of people were gathered outside the Citgo Gas Station at 1225 S. 78th St. and Rideout Road when a verbal altercation occurred. Someone pulled out a gun and shot the person he was arguing with. Then another person joined the shooting. Five people were struck by gunfire, including the first shooter. Two of the people were hospitalized. No arrests have been made at this time. "Senseless acts of violence, especially in public vicinities where innocent bystanders could be injured, are unacceptable," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "We are continuing to conduct an investigation into this incident and interviewing the individuals involved to learn more about what led up to the shooting.
