Description

We'll hike a loop on some of the best trails in Palm Springs in beautiful desert terrain. As we hike we'll have amazing views of the area. The hike lasts approx 3 hours incl time to stop to take pics & breaks. I will provide water, a snackbar, a backpack & a hiking pole for each hiker, all sanitized for you, but if you prefer you can bring your own. Please bring a face mask. We'll hike a loop on some of the best trails in south Palm Springs through beautiful desert terrain. As we hike we'll see amazing views of the desert below all the way up to beautiful mountain peaks. We'll stop & see the very unique Bob Hope house & once we reach the top of Smoke Tree Mtn (really a hill at 1,522 ft. & the highest point we'll reach) you can grab a rock, make a wish & toss it onto the huge rock pile & enjoy incredible 360 degree views of the entire area, perfect for scenic photos. We'll see the windmills, the Little San Bernardino Mountains that go into Joshua Tree National Park, the San Jacinto Mtns to the west, Mount San Gorgonio (the tallest mtn. in So Cal at 11,501 ft.), Palm Springs and other desert cities. As we head back down we'll see Indian Canyons, ancestral home to the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians that settled in the area 5000 years ago. Click the Tripadvisor link below for complete details, pics, reviews but please don't purchase through there, they take 22% commission for each booking I get through them. https://www.tripadvisor.com/AttractionProductReview-g32847-d17330491-Guided_Hike_in_Palm_Springs_with_Amazing_Views-Palm_Springs_Greater_Palm_Springs_Ca.html The meeting spot is at the very end of Barona Road, which is a very short cul-de-sac. I will send meeting directions when you've booked. If you want to do this hike please arrive to the meeting location by 7:20am, so we can begin promptly at 7:30am. All pics seen here are from this hike. This hike will gain & lose about 1000 feet, so you need to be healthy & fit for hiking uphill & downhill, you should at least have a moderate fitness level. There are sections of trail that are rough, uneven, & have loose gravel/dirt. Make sure you wear shoes that have a sturdy sole & have good tread, I usually wear trail runners. Also dress according to the weather forecast so you'll be comfortable. There are no restrooms here. If you have any questions contact me.
