Assembling a New Orleans Tradional Jazz

I’m a trumpet player and singer hoping to diversify and improve the music scene on Long Island. I’m seeking lovers of jazz, particularly old school “traditional” Jazz (also inaccurately known as: “Dixieland”) The end game is to have a gigging group of 5-6 musicians playing the music made famous by such innovators as Buddy Bolden, Jelly Roll Morton and of course, Louis Armstrong. Initially, I’ll be happy to start off with a drummer, cordial instrument and bass with the hopes of expanding to a Clarient and trombone. This is for someone seeking a project to get involved with and develop. NOT someone hoping to make money right away! My idea is we rehearse for a few hours 2-3 times and put together a set and then approach venues for gigs. If this is sounds of interest to you, please feel free to contact me!
