Join us at the Layered Studio for a for a fun and unique cake decorating experience where you will learn how to build your own 6” cake and decorate it in a beautiful live-edge buttercream finish with piped buttercream pumpkins. All materials and tools needed to create this cake will be provided by us. Simply show up ready to have fun, be creative, and eat cake!
In this class, we will cover:
The fundamentals of working with buttercream, including our tips and tricks on how to get the silkiest buttercream ever, how temperature is key to a smooth finish, and our recommendations on Swiss meringue vs. American buttercream
How to build a cake from scratch which includes trimming and torting the cake layers, moistening those layers with simple syrup, and using a buttercream dam for our cream cheese filling
How to properly frost a cake in a smooth finish with a live-buttercream edge, and a swirled top
How to create a simple but beautiful buttercream pumpkin design with metallic accents
Also included in this class:
Charcuterie cones, desserts, and drinks to give us the energy we need to decorate our little hearts out!
A 6-inch cake - in our seasonal pumpkin cream cheese flavor - that is ready to be decorated by YOU
A cake box to bring your gorgeous creation home in (our cakes freeze well so you can pop the box in your freezer until you are ready to eat or gift it!)
