BROCKTON, MA — The Massachusetts House and Senate agreed on a $16.5 billion transportation funding bill early Wednesday morning, which would provide $5.75 million for projects in Brockton. The bill, which was passed almost unanimously following a session that lasted until after 4 a.m., now heads to Gov. Charlie Baker's desk for approval. The bill would provide funding for the following projects in Brockton: $3.5 million for the design, engineering, and construction to restore 2-way traffic circulation downtown, replacing the existing 1-way system on Main St., Belmont St., and Warren Ave.$500,000 for the construction and improvement of sidewalks$500,000 for pedestrian safety improvements on Main St.$750,000 for the study and design of a pedestrian access point to Brockton Commuter Rail Station from Montello St. $500,000 for elderly and disabled transportation services
