Yard Laborer We are looking for motivated and safety-conscious people to join our recycling team! Position is full time with half days on Saturdays. Starting Salary: $15.00/hour Key skills needed: Show up to work, work hard, flexible, self-motivated Education needed: High school diploma or equivalent Responsibilities: -Sort different types of non ferrous and ferrous metal -Assist with maintaining a clean warehouse and shipping yard, including sweeping, trash removal, and cleaning up scrap metal and other materials from the recycling process -Perform all duties to meet all quality standards in a safe manner according to OSHA guidelines and the company's safety protocol -Perform other custodial duties as required by supervisor -Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers -Provide outstanding customer service and uphold company values Physical Requirements: -Perform a wide range of physical activities ranging from continuous standing, walking, sitting, climbing, to crouching, kneeling, bending, twisting and stooping -Use hands/arms to grasp, hold, push/pull material of various weights and lengths -Lift/carry light to heavy objects up to 60lbs. -Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception ad the ability to focus Work Environment -Open shop environment; may be exposed to cold and hot work spaces, including working in inclement weather such as rain -May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles -Noise level in work environment can be loud Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements The following personal protective equipment will be offered and required -Hard hat -Steel-toed boots -Safety glasses -Ear plugs
