Schools, Town Offices Turn Into First Responder Vaccination Sites

MASSACHUSETTS — The state on Tuesday morning announced the locations of 114 coronavirus vaccination sites for first responders, further detailing the effort to convert everything from elementary schools to senior centers to town halls into innoculation centers for tens of thousands of police officers, firefighters and EMTs. Nearly every vaccination site will serve only first responders in that municipality or a surrounding one. Only one site, Needham's Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates-Atrius Health, will serve first responders from all parts of the state. The UMass Amherst Campus Center will serve all western Massachusetts first responders, while the South Lawrence East Elementary School will administer vaccines to all Essex County first responders. Fenway Park and Gillette Stadium are also expected to become vaccination hubs for first responders. First responders can begin getting vaccinated Monday, Jan. 11. Vaccinations at some sites will begin later. Below is an interactive map below where you can find addresses, instructions on how to book appointments and the days of the week the sites will be open.
