On Saturday, October 22nd, Heath Ceramics is proud to host the best-selling author of the Coasts of California, Obi Kaufmann on a hike across Marin county’s Ring Mountain Preserve. On this walk across one of our premier, local wildlife Preserves, Obi will share his vision of hope, connectivity and respect. As a naturalist and an artist, Obi’s holistic understanding of California's ecology is as unique as it is timely. In his books, Obi blends science and art to illuminate the multifaceted array of California’s natural world, forming an elemental narrative based on the shaping forces of earth, air, fire, and water. Join us as we walk with Obi and discover the network of living systems that connect us to our surroundings and create the beauty we all enjoy as Bay Area citizens.
We'll start the morning at Heath Ceramics in Sausalito for coffee, bites, and brief conversation about Heath's connection to its natural context, and Obi's path documenting our environment in devoted detail.
Please note you will need a vehicle to get from Heath's Factory and Showroom to travel to the hike start point. Please wear comfortable shoes!
Your registration fee includes a copy of Obi's latest book The Coasts of California and a Heath tote bag.
