October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. DV directly affects more than ten million men and women every year and impacts the lives of far more. In addition to the adverse physical and mental health conditions faced by survivors, DV takes a demonstrable toll on communities as a whole-- increasing rates of homelessness, addiction, truancy, delinquency, unemployment, and more. Shelter Home of Caldwell County has been a safe haven for DV survivors for more than 40 years and has provided services to more than 10,000 victims, but we can only do that with the help of our generous donors, volunteers, and community partners. Join us on October 15th for our first annual DVAM Bar Crawl and Be Your Own Superhero! The crawl will start at 1841 Café at 6pm and end at Liquid Roots Brewing Company with stops at Side Street Pour House, Fercott Fermentables, and Moonjoy Meadery. Costumes are encouraged but not required. We hope to see you there!
