After departing from the Navy, Derek went into the Environmental Science industry where he assisted in developing automated reporting systems which included the Nutritional Labeling format seen on food packaging all across the world. In 1999 while working independently for small businesses in eastern North Carolina, Derek was introduced to the TAB industry when a TAB company owner asked him to help automate processes in his Test and Balance business. This product would form the foundation for what would later become TABopts. Ten years and tens of thousands of programming hours later, Derek had developed a viable product for the Test and Balance Industry and branded that product TABopts, Test and Balance Operational and Production Tracking Software. This presentation will teach you how to load the NEBB forms and explain the overall layout of the forms. In particular, he will discuss the formulas, the data entry areas, the Conditional formatting that allow field personnel to see when reading are out of Tolerance. Trane Company Matt Gates has over 32 years of experience in the Controls and Energy Industry. He has been a National Controls Sales Trainer for several Trane Company offices. He is a customer focused solutions provider and a problem solver. With more manufacturers adopting open standards for building automation systems (BAS) controllers, it is common to have HVAC (and other equipment) arrive with factory mounted controls at a site. This session will explain how to integrate BACnet equipment controls to a building automation system. Pace Analytical Dan Takata is a field service manager at Pace Analytical. Dan has 16 years of experience testing and certifying cleanrooms for many industries, including medical device manufacturing, pharmaceutical, and sterile compounding. Currently, accredited through CETA National Board of Testing for Sterile Compounding Facilities. Dan’s presentation will outline various facility setups (room layouts and classification, use of laminar flow units and biosafety cabinets), and the air exchange and pressure requirements for each application. Also, case study scenarios will be presented. Mulcahy Company Dan Chudecke has worked at Mulcahy Company since 1993 and is currently the Director of Business Development. Mulcahy Co. is a 90+ year old manufacturers Rep firm in the HVAC, plumbing, industrial, and wastewater markets. In addition to his company wide business development activities, Dan is responsible for the training and education of Mulcahy personnel and customers regarding their products and services. Other responsibilities include field trouble shooting and assisting factories in development of future products and design manuals. Dan is a past president of the Minnesota Chapter of ASHRAE, serves on Technical Committee 6.1 and is currently on the ASHRAE Executive Committee for Membership Promotion. He has also presented many seminars on HVAC system design and installation to ASHRAE, ASPE, NEBB, and other local organizations. He is a graduate of Purdue University. His presentation topic is Challenging Pumps – Many typical centrifugal pump applications have unique aspects that make them difficult. This session will discuss cavitation, NPSH, high temperatures, and other areas that can prevent a successful installation. Blue Team Alpha Peter Martinson is an Information Security Professional with 20+ years of information technology and cybersecurity experience. Peter has held roles handling various aspects of large and complex information security programs, most recently as Information Security Officer for a cybersecurity consulting firm and is currently Director of Incident Response with Blue Team Alpha. Peter has deep experience serving as an information security advisor and consultant, as well as experience with leading and managing Incident Response and Recovery teams. During this presentation, Peter will be discussing the impact of the Ukraine-Russia war on ransomware attacks in the United States. He will talk about the impact of the War, changes in ransomware threat actors are operating, and impacts on cyber insurance and why now is the time to harden your security.
