DETROIT — The Detroit Pistons have acquired Utah Jazz forward Bojan Bogdanovic in exchange for center Kelly Olynyk and third-year guard Saben Lee, according to multiple reports. Bogdanovic, 33, has played in Utah for the past three seasons, averaging 18.1 points per game and shooting 39 percent from three. The sharpshooter immediately becomes the Piston's most accomplished three-point shooter, a significant upgrade for a team that finished near last in 3-point field goals made last year. The 6-foot-7 veteran forward will join a young Pistons core that features a dynamic backcourt including former first-overall draft pick Cade Cunningham and this year's fifth-overall draft pick Jaden Ivey. The move is essentially a salary dump for the Jazz as they continue their fire sale. They also recently traded all-star guard Donovan Mitchell to the Cleveland Cavaliers for multiple players and draft picks. The Pistons will take on the final year of Bogdanovic's contract for $19.6 million, while the Jazz will take the final two-years of Olynyk's contract for $12.8 million and $12.2 million next year. The Jazz also take over Lee's expiring contract for $1.8 million this year and a team option for $1.9 million next year.
