Are you interested in getting more involved in local politics and making a difference in your community? Do you want to help get out the vote for Democrats in Portland, ME and surrounding areas? Join our paid canvassing team! We are looking to hire door-to-door canvassers to work on a temporary basis in Portland, Maine, and the surrounding suburbs. The position will start 9/27, and run all the way through election day, November 8th, 2022. Canvasser Requirements: - Must be available to work Tuesday-Saturday until Election Day (11/8) - Must have a car, valid driver's license, and insurance! This is a mandatory requirement! - A smartphone (iPhone or Android) with a high or unlimited data package is required. - Strong commitment to politics and progressive values - A friendly, outgoing personality - Willing to sign a waiver of liability · Willingness to work individually - Previous canvass experience preferred - Commitment to meet quantitative goals set forth by the campaign - Will perform all required reporting protocols. Including completion of an end-of-shift tally sheet and return of completed walk lists - All canvassers will be required to complete Dept. of Homeland Security Form I-9 (employment eligibility) and Internal Revenue Service Form W-9 (to be a 1099 Independent Contractor) and background check!
