Description
ARLINGTON, MA — Animal Control and an Arlington police officer worked to free an injured owl from under a car on Chatham Street. The Eastern Screech owl was given fluids, medication and put on a heating pad for the night.
The bird was taken to Tufts for further care Tuesday.
Animal Control Officer Diane Welch said Eastern Screech owls are either red or gray. The one rescued Monday is in the gray phase and is camouflaged to resemble tree bark, Welch said.
The owls are called Screech because they make many sounds, including screeching.
