Full Job Description Are you interested in getting more involved in local politics and making a difference in your community? Do you want to help get out the vote for Beto O'Rourke and Dems in Austin and other areas in Travis County? Join our paid canvassing team! We are looking to hire door-to-door canvassers to work on a temporary basis in Austin, TX, and the surrounding suburbs. The position will start immediately, and run through election day, November 8th, 2022. Hardworking people of all different backgrounds and experiences will be considered and are encouraged to apply. Nature of Work: The work consists of going door-to-door to get out the vote (GOTV). Applicants must be able to attend ONE paid training and work every Tuesday-Saturday starting from their training date through November 8th. Canvasser Requirements: - Must be available to work Tuesday-Saturday until Election Day (11/8) - Must have a car, valid driver's license, and insurance! This is a mandatory requirement! - A smartphone (iPhone or Android) with a high or unlimited data package is required. - Strong commitment to politics and progressive values - A friendly, outgoing personality - Willing to sign a waiver of liability · Willingness to work individually - Previous canvass experience preferred - Commitment to meet quantitative goals set forth by the campaign - Will perform all required reporting protocols. Including completion of an end-of-shift tally sheet and return of completed walk lists - All canvassers will be required to complete Dept. of Homeland Security Form I-9 (employment eligibility) and Internal Revenue Service Form W-9 (to be a 1099 Independent Contractor) and background check! - Spanish-speaking candidates are strongly encouraged to apply!
