Description

Hello Bellingham! My fiance and I are currently living/working here in Bellingham, and love being part of this little community. We live in our mostly restored vintage Toyota Mini-Motorhome, and bounce around parking when we're not working. We're trying to save money to travel, and live simply so we can work less and have time to do yoga and maintain a balance in our life. I have been navigating trying to fix some small issues on our truck, and am in desperate need of someone who is feeling nice! Our little 42-year-old Toyota (only 53k miles) has a little rust in the gas tank that I need to deal with. The rig is only 22ft long with the bike rack hanging out, which is slightly more than a standard parking space. I need a place to park for three days to remove the gas tank from my truck to have it resealed. We need it to be close to Downtown Bellingham or Fairhaven or somewhere in between, as those are the areas we work in, and we ride bikes to commute. I have already spoken with Whatcom Radiator and they can do the resurfacing and sealing in a day and a half to two days. I have the jacks and jack stands that I need to get the tank off the vehicle. They told me three days would be the longest it would take for a full turn-around. I am looking to find a place where I can park that's out of the way. I need to remove my gas tank and take it to them for sealing. It's a matter of disconnecting two hoses and removing 8 bolts to get it off, then the reverse to re-install. I would expect to not be in your parking space longer than a week. It would likely be around 3-4 days. I just can't immobilize my vehicle unless I have a guaranteed safe space to park. I'm also hoping to swap the rear shock absorbers and suspension bushings while the tank is out, which is a straightforward job I have done on a 4-runner before. If you are feeling nice, and you might be willing to help, please reach out! We are two young people just trying to find their way in the world, and could really use a favor. We are 420 friendly, consume no hard drugs or alcohol, and are generally quiet, respectful people. We both work early mornings and are in bed early and awake early. We spend most of our free time relaxing, hiking with our dog, or reading. We will be quiet and respectful. We can potentially offer the following services/skills to help sweeten the deal, should anyone be open to a barter: Cooking (I am a professional Chef with 17+ years experience) Cleaning Yard/Landscaping Help Small Handyman Tasks Professional Editing/Writing (my fiance has degrees in English, Journalism & Communications) Good Company (we're down to cook and have dinner together if you want a night off cooking and cleaning)
