MIAMI, FL — Divers are working to recover a man from the waters off Key Biscayne after two boats collided Monday night, NBC 6 South Florida reported. Four were also hospitalized following the crash.
The accident happened near Bear Cut Bridge around 7:22 p.m. One boat involved had seven aboard, while the other had a single boater. Both boats were small fishing vessels, the Miami Herald reported.
The man missing is a 33-year-old from the group boat who is believed to have gone overboard. More than 18 divers from various agencies, including Miami Fire Rescue, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, the U.S. Coast Guard, and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission, have assisted in the recovery mission, reports said.
Three from the group boat were brought to a nearby hospital. One woman had an injured leg, a man had an abdominal injury and another person had non-life-threatening injuries, reports said.
The solo boater was brought to the hospital with a leg injury.
