Infant Massage is a beautiful way to enhance the bond between infant and parent(s). It's been around for centuries and has been recognized to help improve the quality of parenting and the wellbeing of the infant. Introducing loving touch at the beginning has many benefits from bonding and attachment to decreasing irritability and better understanding of infant cues. Parents will be given a protocol to follow for each section of the body (arms, legs, tummy, chest, head, etc) and by that will learn to connect through massage.
What to expect in our 4 week series is a brief of the history of infant massage, Infant cues, how to adjust certain protocol/massage strokes as they get older, bonding and attachment, and of course...hands on time!
Each family will be given a book that has the infant massage strokes/instructions and a bottle of massage oil.
