The myth claimed that Captain Clarence 2X Gill from the Boston Mosque of Minister Louis X was the “Sixth Assassin” present at the Audubon Ballroom when Malcolm was murdered; that he (Captain Clarence) was wounded during the murder of Malcolm; and that he hid out in Florida where he recuperated from his wounds. The two main advocates of this “Captain Clarence As Sixth Assassin” narrative were author Zak Kondo and film maker Omar Shabazz, who have advocated it for decades.
