Description

A sewing pattern consists of several elements, whether you buy a physical paper pattern, or a digital PDF pattern: Sewing pattern with different lines and symbols Size guide Finished garment measurements Fabric lay-plan Sewing instructions We’ll dig into each of these elements further so that you can feel more confident reading a sewing pattern. This class is designed for everyone - from true beginners to intermediate sewers looking to learn how to navigate sewing patterns. Once you understand the language, symbols and vocabulary in a pattern, you can get started making your own clothes, costumes, and more. Kim will walk you through a sewing pattern, from the cover / package to all the symbols and cutting lines inside. *Please note* You will NOT cut out pattern pieces or make a project in this class but will learn about the language and nuances of sewing patterns. Please bring something to take notes, as you may need them for reference later. You are welcome to bring a particular pattern you have a question about. In this case, we will reserve 15 min after group class for pattern questions. This is a group class, meant to teach the technicalities of reading and using a pattern. If you would like one on one help reading and using a particular sewing pattern, please message me HERE for a private lesson. This is an INDOOR class. Face masks are optional.
