HUD Awards Jacksonville Housing Authority $740K In Housing Vouchers

From The JAX Chamber: January 4, 2021 The Jacksonville Housing Authority (JHA) has been awarded 100 vouchers worth a total of $740,400 through the CARES Act. The CARES Act allowed the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to allocate additional vouchers to public housing agencies like JHA non-competitively to help them prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus in their communities. "We appreciate the assistance our federal partners have provided as we respond to the impacts of COVID-19 in our city. These additional vouchers provided through the CARES Act will fund safe, decent, sanitary housing for 100 Jacksonville residents facing homelessness," said JHA interim CEO Dwayne Alexander.
