Local Social Design Trip with Randy RoyerThursday, 29 September5:45 pm, Meet and greet6 pm – 7 pm, Trip7 pm - 7:30 pm, ConversationJoin us for our first Local Social Design Trip, a new series hosted by Landmark Columbus Foundation, supported through a grant from Indiana Humanities, and presented by Upland Columbus Pump House.Take a trip around downtown Columbus with our guest and guide Randy Royer. On this guided tour of downtown Columbus, Randy will offer a unique perspective and personal connection to the histories and meanings of various significant cultural sites in and around downtown Columbus, like public artworks, National Historic Landmarks, and more.The event will begin with a meet and greet with Randy at 5:45 pm at the Landmark Columbus Foundation (LCF) studio. Randy will kickoff the event with a special reading. The guided trip will begin promptly at 6 pm, and end back at the studio for refreshments and a conversation about the reading, what we saw on our trip, and connections we made along the way.This Trip was created in celebration the 2022 Indiana Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architecture on Conference, which is happening on September 30 in the Commons. The goal of the Local Social Design Trips is to bring awareness to Columbus’ design history and heritage that shapes the modern legacy of Columbus with an easy, fun, after-work event to do with your friends, family, and colleagues. With this event, Landmark Columbus Foundation is excited to highlight members of our community. Randy RoyerSenior Principal, Hitchcock Design GroupRandy's broad range of experience covers an over 20-year career and includes designing museum grounds in Japan, estates in South Florida and streetscapes, parks and corporate campuses in Indiana. As the leader of Hitchcock Design Group’s Indiana office, he seeks to combine aesthetics, functionality and maintainability in all of his projects. He calls Columbus, Indiana home and is very active in the community, serving on the Columbus Indiana Architectural Archives Board, the Purdue Agriculture Alumni Association Board and as past president of the Columbus Area Visitor’s Center Board. A graduate of Purdue University, Randy maintains a passion for collaboration between the community, clients and the design profession.
