This camp is for grades 3 to 6! Future camps will be for other grade levels. We provide all equipment, goggles, gloves, digging equipment--dress comfortably and be prepared to get dirty! Expert Ghost Town Explorer, Nick Bordeaux will guide the kids with metal detector and probes as they learn to locate, dig safely, screen and investigate artifacts. Kids will work at the museum to locate and find the artifacts, and will be walked next door to the Silsbee Public Library to investigate their findings. The camp will be conducted by certified teachers, the museum curator and the museum archivist to be able to participate in a real archeological dig. The artifacts found will be permanently listed in the museum archives, attributed to the student archeologist, and exhibited at the museum. Pick either a morning (8:30-11:30 AM) or afternoon (12:30-3:30 PM) session. Parent will be required to fill out permission slips and emergency information when registering their child.
