This workshop will provide participants with basic knowledge of floodplain management topics that contribute to the success of a community’s floodplain management program. Participants will learn about State and Federal regulations and the importance of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). Topics also include NFIP Requirements, Elevation Certificates, substantial improvement and damage, FEMA Map Amendments, and maintaining and understanding a Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance. This course is geared toward both those who are new to floodplain management and those who have been in the field for some time and need a refresher.
