Blessing of the Animals is a community event in which local animals are invited to receive a blessing honoring the Feast of St. Francis. Animals are welcome to bring their humans, as long as they are on a leash or kept attached to their travel carriers😉. Our honored guests can range anywhere from bearded dragons to horses. All gentle animals and their well-behaved humans are welcome to join us at the Cross outside in front of the church at 7 pm! As part of the Blessing of the Animals we are collecting items that evening for the Rockingham County Animal Shelter, please purchase an item on the Amazon Wish List (https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2XBBEFSYGCEK5) or bring Purina Dry Dog and Puppy Food, Purina Dry Cat & Kitten Food, Canned Cat Food, Canned Dog Food, Dog & Cat Treats, Blankets & Towels, Bleach & Lysol Wipes, Newspaper, Non-Clumping Cat Litter, Cat Toys, Durable Dog Toys (such as Kong), Cardboard Scratching Posts, Kuranda Beds (https://kuranda.com/donate/14864) or Plastic Carriers.
