New Year's Drinking Leads To 6 DUI Arrests In Clearwater

CLEARWATER, FL — Despite warnings that law enforcement would be out in force watching for drunk drivers over the New Year's weekend, Clearwater police made 16 driving under the influence arrests and a number of other traffic-related arrests. According to the Clearwater Police, one man, Robert Lindsey, raced his car at 96 mph on the Courtney Campbell Causeway. Another man, Darrell Thomas, said he had 10 shots of vodka and smoked pot before crashing and leaving the scene of the accident. And a third driver, Bruce Willis, was pulled over for drunk driving with a 4-year-old child unrestrained in the front seat.
