The Principal Investigator (or Project Director) has primary responsibility for budget planning for a new proposal.  Not only should the budget translate the science into numbers but it should also be reasonable, allocable, allowable, and consistently applied. Join MICHR for an interactive workshop presenting the basics of budgeting for research grants.  Learn how to calculate indirect costs, determine calendar months for effort, complete other budget components, and write a budget justification. This budgeting workshop is modeled using a NIH budget format.   This in-person workshop is intended for junior investigators applying for any of MICHR's awards or putting in a new proposal; but is open for all interested. A calendar invite will be sent to all confirmed registrants with the meeting information. If you are unable to attend this workshop, please cancel your registration to release a seat for someone else who may be waiting to sign up. FAQs Where can I contact the organizer with any questions? Please email [email protected] Will I get a Budget template to work on? Yes, You will receive a budget template the day before to allow you to utilize during the workshop. Where will this workshop take place? This will be an in-person workshop taking place in NCRC, Building 300, room 376. A calendar invite will be sent to all confirmed registrants with the meeting information. Will I have time to ask my budgeting questions? Yes. There will be designated time for you to ask questions throughout the workshop.
