DETROIT — A woman was killed Wednesday morning in Detroit after she crashed her car on eastbound 94, Michigan State Police said.
State troopers said the woman was driving on the freeway near Woodward Avenue at 3:25 a.m. when she lost control and struck the center concrete median.
Officials found her dead at the scene after she was partially ejected from the car and crushed between the median and her vehicle, police said.
Troopers have identified her and are working to notify her family, officials said. Police will continue the investigation after a medical examiner finishes at the scene.
Police closed eastbound Interstate 94 at Trumbull and the southbound Michigan 10 freeway leading onto Interstate 94, officials said. It was unclear when the road will reopen.
