Seeking singer for eclectic, arty rock band

Description

Our band is a trio of middle aged guys who play guitar, bass and drums (though our bass player does play a few other instruments, which may or may not get pulled out). We're looking for a vocalist to collaborate with - in writing lyrics for material that we're working on that is thus far instrumental, as well as someone who would be willing to sing a number of songs which already have lyrics and melodies. If you have full songs, with lyrics and music, we could play those as well as long as it fits our style. Our music is more on the compact/minimal side, rather than a more jammy/long form sort of thing. The sound is more subtle and dynamic, rather than a consistently loud, heavy sort of thing. We tend to be very rhythmic, with lots of repeated motifs. We're looking for a vocalist with a style that's more about being an additional element in the music, playing off of the instrumental motifs rather than someone who's style is more about being on top of the music - more Waters/Gilmore and less Jim Morrison/Tom Jones. Ability to pitch in and play another instrument as well as singing would be a big plus... whether you play keyboard, a horn, guitar, percussion, etc. Males or females welcome. The music has kind of become it's own beast so it would be difficult to break down in terms of influences. That being said, individual members' musical interests include: Pink Floyd, My Morning Jacket, The Meters, minutemen, King Crimson, Black Sabbath, classical music, jazz, reggae, 70s funk, Supertramp, Roxy Music, David Bowie, T Rex, Gong and lots of other stuff. Rehearsals happen in SW.
