Seeking Pet Assisted Therapy Teams

Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA is seeking volunteer Pet Assisted Therapy (PAT) teams! PAT teams are made up of local residents who work in pairs with their trained pets (i.e, dogs, cats, rabbits, or guinea pigs) to provide animal-assisted interactions in healthcare facilities, schools, libraries and drug rehabilitation centers. Pets in these teams offer the unique kind of therapeutic interaction only an animal can provide. It is the most social, engaging animals and their companions that become PAT teams. This role is available for those volunteers ages 18+ and shifts are minimum twice a month.
