Girls Who Hike Tennessee ambassador led hike at Panther Creek State Park This hike will be led by GWHTN Ambassador Ash and her dog Maya! ***ALL OFFICIAL GWHTN EVENTS/HIKES REQUIRE REGISTRATION ON EVENTBRITE*** Hike Description: This is a 2.7 mile trail rated as moderate. I think it’s good for beginners who are trying to gain some experience with small elevation gains. Challenging enough to be fun but easy enough to be done! This trail takes us down to see the lovely Cherokee Lake at the base and then up to the high point in Panther Creek State park where you can look out over the lake and see the islands. If you are a beginner hiker, feel free to post any questions or concerns in the discussion! The group will always stay together, so don’t be afraid if you are a slow hiker. Pack a picnic and hang out with us afterwards! Trail Rating- BEGINNER/GREEN: A moderate hike is generally suitable for novice hikers who want a bit of a challenge. Easy to follow, elevation gain of 1000ft and under, 3 to 5 miles, low altitude What is needed: Hiking shoes, clothing appropriate for the weather, 2 liters of water and a snack and/or packed lunch for the picnic after Dogs: Yes. Must be leashes and poop scooped Children: Yes Men: No Permits / Passes / Fees: No Liability Waiver: To attend any GWHTN hike/event the waiver must be signed.
