It's always refreshing to hear from experienced musicians such as yourself. After I have played hundreds of gigs myself, I have found that this situation has happened to me only twice. Although your wisdom is extremely appreciated, I would have to say I posted it not to show what a dumbass I was, but rather for people to be aware of that particular fish situation and that particular club. I'm not in LA, by choice. My window to be a rockstar has come and went. And if you're responding to me from Spokane valley, I would have to say you're in the same boat. It's been my experience that those who claim to have never been duped are either lying, or an extreme denial. I suppose there might be one or two people out there that are clever enough to avoid such situations. Maybe you are one of them. Good for you. I like to use this forum to help other musicians, being overly critical and superior isn't what I would call helpful. I love playing music, but it is not my mainstay. With that focus in mind, I'm never really on the short end of the stick.
