Seeking other musicians/producers for fun VGM-influenced DIY punk

Hiya! I’m Brian. (He/him) I love DIY & folk punk, jazz, city pop, and nintendo music. I work in TV as a professional animator and live in Astoria. I’ve been trying to write and record some music for my band, yellowpop!, for a while now, but doing all of the instrumentation and producing myself is giving me major burnout. The project I was working on (a concept album) was also getting way too daunting. Right now, I kind of want to pivot a bit and do lighter, more fun sounding, whimsical type stuff with jazz and VGM influences but with a bit of a punk energy. Also trying to do more character-driven song writing. Some other favorites are Jeff Rosenstock/BTMI!, Mischief Brew, glass beach, Black Country New Road, Pup, Streetlight Manifesto and Frank Zappa. Some artists in my current rotation are Pigeon Pit, Pat the Bunny, Black Midi, 2 Mello, Home is Where, and In Love with a Ghost. Also love Tatsuro Yamishita, Ryo Fukui, Kero Kero Bonito, and the Paper Mario Origami King OST. I’m a sucker for a good city pop or Japanese math rock playlist. I’m an anarchist and an LGBTQ+ ally and put a lot of anti-capitalist themes in my music, so it’d be great to meet some like-minded musicians! Also like I said, I animate for a living and have some talented artist friends that would love to help make visuals for the music. Honestly, I feel like if I knew a really good pianist or lead guitarist, that would be an absolute game changer. I love programming drums and doing bass and rhythm/harmony, but always fall apart when it comes to performing instrumental leads.
