All Star Labor and Staffing is partnered with a Wood Manufacturer of finish wood products located in Sherwood OR. We are currently seeking those wanting a great family like culture, full time and possibility of growth in the company. Bin Sorter: Day shift hours are 7-:330 pm $18/hr Job Function: This position operates our Bin Sorter and all related receiving equipment to HI Standards Essential Responsibilities and Duties: • May be required to operate and/or fill-in for anyone working in the department • Ensures accuracy of the final product, meets deadlines, and resolves issues relating to grading standards • Strives to constantly and consistently seek more efficient methods to accomplish department goals within the guidelines of HI’s commitment of lean manufacturing principles • Reports to management, as needed, vendor issues relating to quality, quantity, and accuracy • Maintains safe work practices and rules; ensures forklift driving rules are followed • Reports all accidents and incidents to the department supervisor • Reports all personnel problems to the department supervisor • Safely and effectively remanufacture lumber and operate the MJ Rip Saw • Safely and effectively operate the Newman Whitney • Safely and effectively operate the Bin Sorter, Stacker, and Strapping equipment • Load units of lumber and properly store units on the receiving dock Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Cut and Band Laborer: Swing Shift Hours are 3:30-12 am $19/hr Function: This position fulfills all the duties of a warehouse worker/mill worker including, but not limited to, driving forklift, machine feeder and off bearer, machine operations with the responsibility of ensuring accuracy of material cuts and edge banding. Millworker Essential Responsibilities and Duties: Includes the following. 1) Panel Saw Operator a. – Operate panel saw software b. – Make blade changes c. –Operate forklift skillfully (certified in-house) d. –Operation of department dust collection system e. –Understand product and paperwork fulfillment f. –Knowledgeable with measuring devices (i.e. calipers/tape measures) 2) Order/Material Puller: a. –Familiarity with forklift b. –Comprehend SKU’s and locations c. –Perform safety checks (information provided) d. –Stage materials in a safe manner 3) Saw/Bander off bearer: a. –Perform QC checks of product b. –Work well with others c. –Feed or off bear efficiently to protect integrity and safety of product and self d. –Package material for shipment 4) Edge band Operator a. –Order comprehension b. -Operate forklift skillfully (certified in-house) c. –Operate edge band software d. –Practice machine preventative maintenance e. –Ability to understand and conceptualize machine function and abilities f. –Perform QC of products g. – Knowledgeable with measuring devices (i.e. calipers/tape measures) 5) Good housekeeping and work ethic a. –Keep areas neat and organized b. –Clean and return tools when done c. –Clean and inspect machines before shift d. –Be flexible (may work up 50 hours/week) e. –Empty dump bins on occasion f. –Have a good attitude g. Always wear PPE and operate safely 6) General Skills a. –Use of hand tools (drills, wrenches etc.) b. Knowledge of forklift operation c. Knowledge of complete order process d. Stacks lumber and/or sheet goods according to standard unit width and proper sticker placement e. Practices the proper safety techniques required on the job f. Limited operation skills of Specialty machinery.
