Description
Considering rehoming my Argentine black and white tegu.
“Aztec” is a young male tegu approximately 16-18 inches long (not including his tail). This guy has seriously grown on me in the time I’ve had him. He is so fascinating to watch, incredible to handle, he has been an absolute delight for me to keep. I don’t want to rehome him at all, but I have found myself in a stressful place between college plus work and truthfully I wasn’t prepared when I initially got him. He needs daily attention that I simply can’t give. He is only about half his adult size; I’m not in a position to properly house him as he grows.
Regardless, I love Aztec with all my heart. I had no idea I could fall so head over heels for a reptile. He will not go to just anyone. I will be extremely picky and there is going to be an application process. Experienced keepers ONLY. He is NOT for first-time or even intermediate owners. This is a HUGE lizard who needs no less than a 6-foot enclosure. He is also a very eager and aggressive eater with a powerful bite. You must be prepared to feed him correctly. Dog food is NOT acceptable.
All that being said, his rehoming fee is $500 FIRM. I’m not looking to make a profit but I HAVE to know he’s going to the best possible keeper who will love him as much as I do.
Call or text for further information. Serious interest ONLY. Do not waste my time; I won’t respond to questions that have already been addressed here.
