We are usually scheduled 3-4 weeks in advance. What is Cone Penetrometer Testing? To keep it simple, we provide soil information to Geotechnical Engineers so they can determine if the soil can hold up a structure. There is no school that teaches you how to become a CPT operator, we will train you. To be a good operator takes months of practice. The Assistant CPT operator is responsible for setting up equipment for the next test. This job requires a Class C to drive the pickup truck to Jobsite, once the pickup truck is on-site the work begins. Is this a job for you? Jobsite very, we have asked to perform our work in large verity of locations, examples - prisons, military bases, police departments, power plants, nuclear power plants, freeways, bridges, over railroad tracks and so on. How much can you expect to earn? Your wage will vary depending on your experience and what you put into the job. If you have 0 experience starting off, you will earn between 75,000-80,000 a year. If you have other skills like welding, mechanics, engineering, and geology, you will start off with a higher yearly earning. You can earn 120,000+. later in your career. Our office location, Hayward CA This is a full-time job, hours are 40 (minimum) to 50 hours a week. Hours are usually about 6 am to 5 pm Monday-Friday. We pay for certifications as they are needed.
