Hemp buildings can sequester up to 5 tons of carbon because plant matter is locked in the walls, giving a close-to-zero embodied carbon footprint for the building. Two business owners, Phelan Dalton of The Hemp Building Company (Longmont) and Jeremy Stephen of Evolve Construction, who built a permitted hemp home in Steamboat Springs in 2017, will share their knowledge about the new industry.
