Description

Each October marks a time for silent grief for many a mother, a father, family, friends, and our larger community. President Reagan declared National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month in October 1988. The 15th of that month serves as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day and includes the International Wave of Light. Despite these decrees, the ability to remember these precious lives lost too soon inevitably falls to each mother and father to have the courage to speak their child’s name, share a post on social media, or light a candle in remembrance. For some, they may not be recognized as a parent in their daily lives, but they are indeed parents. They are parents who need their family and friends, but they also need us. For them, the singers of the Indianapolis Arts Chorale humbly presents Kim Andre Arnesen's Requiem for Solace and invites the greater Indianapolis community to Break the Silence.
