Description

Union Ave Books is excited to partner with author Jack Russell to promote his book FOX WORLD, while also raising money for Young-Williams Animal Center. This event will take place on Thursday, November 3rd at 6:30 pm in our store. A portion of all book sales will be donated to Young-Williams, and a representative will be attending to share information about this wonderful organization! Jack Russell is a first-time author, not counting dozens of hundred-page PowerPoints written in Corporate World. Jack wrote Fox World after suffering sudden cardiac arrest and undergoing several heart procedures to save his life. Afterwards, he sought the calm refuge of a nearby forest in which to walk and relax, and there, he reunited with an aging red fox that he had helped as a pup. Fox World is based on true events and was a real-time composition as Jack wrote the 85,000-word book on his smartphone as he and his co-narrator, Mr. Fox, walked daily. Previously, Jack traveled North America and Europe for three decades to assist Fortune 1000 companies with building distribution channels, developing new products, and launching start-ups. His efforts were instrumental in building a pet health insurance company in America and he underwrote over one hundred affinity marketing programs in his career. Jack studied economics at Virginia Commonwealth University and years later, attended executive programs at The Wharton School and Georgetown University. He lives in Lake Frederick, Virginia with his wife, Susan, and their Jack Russell terriers. Along with fighting for Mr. Fox’s forest to be declared a nature preserve, Jack and Susan enjoy giving freedom rides to shelter dogs and assisting with their shelter medical bills. He is a beginner at photography, an ever-learning birdwatcher, a football fan when Green Bay is on television and an enthusiastic golfer of diminishing skills. Young-Williams Animal Center began as the Knoxville/Knox County Animal Welfare Center that opened in January 2001. At Young-Williams Animal Center, their mission is to lead the community to end pet homelessness, promote animal welfare and enhance the human-animal bond.
