HCI is hiring an operation’s assistant to assist our small but growing business. We are reseller of used telecommunications equipment and need help. We are seeking a part-time candidate that will work a minimum of 12 hours per week in our Setauket location (walking distance to Stony Brook campus) This candidate will perform the following job tasks: 1. Assist with sorting and counting incoming items; 2. Clean items; 3. Label items; 4. Package outbound shipments; 5. Occasionally test items to ensure basic functionality; Potential Schedule · Monday: 10:00 AM to 3 PM · Wednesday: 10:00 AM to 3 PM · Thursday: 10:00 AM to 3 PM Additional hours Occasionally, we will ask the candidate to work more than twelve hours in a single week. But for the foreseeable future, we do not expect more than twelve. It’s possible that some weeks will require less than twelve hours, in this case, we will still ensure a minimum of twelve paid hours per week. Flexibility Depending on your university classes, we will adjust your schedule to accommodate. Important Note This is a “dirty” and hands-on job as you will be handling used electronics, boxes, and cleaning products (all natural cleaning products only). You will need appropriate clothing. Gloves, safety glasses, and masks will be provided. Benefits This is an easy job. The tasks aren’t hard but requires your attention. You will be able to listen to music and work at your own pace. It’s also flexible and the pay is better than most. You can also walk to it from campus. Additionally, you will be provided with a $50 per week food and beverage allowance. Requirements o Over 18 years of age o Be able to lift and stand with 65lbs of weight (e.g., a box) o Pass drug test and background check o Be familiar with consumer electronics o Have experience using a power screwdriver and understanding of basic tools (e.g., allen key, phillips, flathead, etc.) o Currently enrolled in a 4-year university or college / masters program **Please send resume in PDF format.
