Objectives: This one-day training will provide valuable insights and strategies for conducting victim and offender meetings. The workshop is designed for those who wish to acquire a basic understanding of the differences between a Retributive Justice approach to crime and a Restorative Justice approach to crime. Additionally, participants will learn how Restorative Justice is applied in Fresno Juvenile Court. Methods & Materials: Experienced Mediators who have mediated over 100 Victim/Offender meetings each will present methods, as well as practical skills in listening and mediation. A training packet of models, charts, and worksheets for reference and practice will be provided.
