PLEASE, PLEASE don't buy a pure-bred dog from Craig's List until you see the warning signs: 1. They don't guarantee a return of the dog if it isn't a good fit for your family. Also, if the dog becomes sick, has seizures, parvo, etc. and dies shortly after buying it. A legitimate breeder will give you another dog. 2. They don't give you a copy of the AKC paper. They say they will, but when asked for it they will lie and say they forgot it. A breeder will have no problem at least showing it to you whether you want it or not. 3. They don't give you their home address, and you don't realize it until you meet them there. It is in a public place because they don't want you to know where they live. 4. A legitimate breeder will have nothing to hide and are proud of their dogs. Scammers and puppy breeders are out to make a quick dollar and don't care about the welfare and future of the dog they are selling to you. They should be asking questions about YOU.
