Hi, I'm a 60 year old guitarist living in the northshore, I'm looking to join an existing band that includes elements of jazz, funk, fusion, and Latin. I am not a traditional jazz player such as Wes Montgomery, Joe Pass, or Charlie Christian. My playing is closer to John Scofield, Scott Henderson, and Pat Metheny. I first studied guitar in Italy prior to moving in the United States in 1989. When I arrived in the US, I studied with Jerry Bergonzi and Rendy Roos, while I have also continued to study on my own. Guitar players that I love, other than the players I already mentioned, include Allan Holdsworth, Steve Khan, Pat Martino, John Abercrombie, John McLaughlin, Robben Ford, and many others. Bands that I love are: Weather Report, Tribal Tech, Vital Tech Tones, Yellowjackets, Steps Ahead, and many others. A trio would be a good starting point (guitar, bass and drum). Maybe add a keyboard player and a percussionist depending on what direction we take.
