Urban Lumber Company, a Northwest based furniture manufacturer who specializes in handmade, live edge slabs, tables and custom furniture is hiring 2 seasonal Shop Hands/General Laborers in our woodshop/stump department. These positions will run until the end of the year, a perfect introduction to a career in woodworking and making extra cash for the holidays. - Founded in 2006, and located in Springfield, Oregon, Urban Lumber has quickly become a national leader in large, live edge slab furniture. Known for our sustainable practices, the majority of our wood comes from salvaged city trees. Our projects reach across all aspects of the custom furniture industry including residential, designer and commercial projects. - Full Time positions available Job Purpose This position will work closely with the owner, millwright, and shop manager. Primary Duties and Responsibilities of the Shop Hand / General Laborer position include: Ability to operate tablesaw, bandsaw, belt sander and other shop tools Ability to handle large slabs - Additional qualifications: Ability to work independently and with others Reliability Highly detailed oriented Physical ability to safely handle heavy lumber Adhere to all safety standards - Position will have many responsibilities as well as rewards including: -A competitive salary -Training in specialty woodworking -A fun work environment -1st Shift (Mon-Fri) - Urban Lumber is a rapidly growing, fast paced company, and we are looking for people with an exceptional work ethic, an outgoing personality and a can do attitude!
