Pedestrian Struck By Car In 'Critical Condition': Stamford Police

STAMFORD, CT — A city man is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in Stamford on Sunday, according to police. In a statement, Sgt. Jeffrey Booth said the incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. in the area of West Main Street and Spruce Street. Booth said an initial investigation found the pedestrian was crossing West Main Street when he was struck by a 2012 Subaru Impreza. (To sign up for Greenwich breaking news alerts and more, click here.) The pedestrian was identified as David Bond, 67, a Stamford resident who is currently believed to be homeless, Booth said. He was transported to Stamford Hospital with serious injuries and was listed in critical condition as of Sunday evening, Booth said. The driver of the vehicle, a Stamford resident, was interviewed by officers, however no charges have been filed at this point, Booth said.
