Description
This position involves moving furniture into homes under the direction of a Stager/Designer and working with a small team to perform all of the detail work needed to get a home ready for photos. Detail work includes hanging art, touching up furniture and art frames, and light cleaning of our items. Other duties include but are not limited to organizing and cleaning of warehouse and repair of furniture and art.
The Staging Assistant works 3-5 days per week and shifts range from 4 to 7 hours; the day ends when the job is complete. Work is Monday to Friday only and rarely goes past 5pm; weekends off.
The right candidate will be reliable, communicative, collaborative, handy and a team player. This position would be good for someone who is conscientious, creative and enjoys design.
They will also:
• Have the strength and stamina to lift heavy items (50+ lbs individually or 100+ in a team lift) repeatedly while maneuvering through tight spaces, up and down stairs, and in and out of a truck. Must know (or be willing to learn) proper lifting technique.
• Know, or be willing to learn how to pack a truck carefully and securely, working with the lead; wrap and move furniture in and out of staged homes without damage.
• Be familiar with the operation of basic tools to repair, assemble or disassemble furniture.
• Work efficiently to meet deadlines.
• Be professional, positive, friendly and have a good attitude with co-workers and clients.
• Have own transportation to and from West Seattle.
Experience driving a 16' box truck (CDL not needed), moving furniture, general warehouse labor or home staging is a big plus!
