Downingtown Friends Meeting will host their annual Friends Fall Festival on Saturday, October 8, from 9am to 4pm at their address of 800 E. Lancaster Ave., on their historical property and Quaker Meetinghouse in Downingtown. This event features quality shopping, family fun, homemade food, kids’ activities and live entertainment. Shopping - quality thrifting at great discounts will be available, as will goods sold by craft artisans, and a silent auction featuring local services provided by the community. Food - think homemade goodies, including vegan chili, soul-warming beef soup, gourmet mac-and-cheese, hot apple cider, and baked goods galore with cakes, cookies, breads and pies (with plenty of gluten-free options), ready to take home and share! Fun - in addition to live music featuring local bands and Jeff "Elvis" Krick’s Elvis tribute concert, visitors can enjoy tours of the Hershey Trees throughout the day, kids' activities, and hayrides! Local nonprofit Petals Please will present a flower arranging workshop at noon. Education - learn about Quakers and their history in this area! This event is free admission with free parking, and kids’ activities are PWYW (Pay What You Want). It will be rain or shine.
