We’re now at the County Shelter, East. Please save us by Wed. 9/21, 6:00 PM Why? We’re struggling in our kennels. We are all good dogs that have done nothing wrong (see our videos in comments. We are loving w/ NO bites nor aggression!) yet shelter places dogs not doing well on E-list! We shouldn't have to lose our lives for this! Sadly, MCACC is over full capacity, and the shelter WILL put us down us on time!! We are all considered dog friendly too! TREY (ID #A4746446) I'm a 2-year-old, neutered, black, Labrador Retriever Mix (50 lbs.). Previously owned for 2 weeks. My owner said I didn’t get along with resident pets; liked the daughter but not so much the son. Its sad.....here at the shelter I'm doing so bad I am licking the walls due to stress. I’m a little bit shy, but given a little time, I will come up to sit by your side, take treats gently, and lean in for pets. I’m a moderate pull on-leash and have done well when near other dogs. I’m best suited for a home with older children and no small pets. Please come meet me before it is too late! GENOVIA (ID #A4747316) I’m an 8-year-old, spayed, brindle and white American Pit Bull Terrier (61 lbs.). I have been an all-around easy-going, easy to handle girl. I am very affectionate with a sweet demeanor. I come up for attention, lean in for pets, love belly rubs, “sit” for treats, and take them gently. I am very calm dog with a easy going demeaner. I give kisses, love attention and being petted. I don’t mind being brushed and take treats politely. I’m now stressed and barking, jumping up on the gate, and panting heavily. I need a family that will be patient and go slowly with me. It is recommended that I go to a home with older children. Sadly, I have been at the shelter twice, once as a stray and then as an owner surrender. My owner said that I knew “sit” “stay” and “paw”, that I prefer women, and that I should be in home with older children and no cats. I have been described as a “very sweet” dog, that will come up for attention and pets, will “sit” for treats and take them gently. I walk well on a leash and greet neighboring dogs politely. I’m struggling with being confined for long periods and now jumping and barking at my gate continuously. Any children in the home must be 12+, and no small animals/cats permitted. They will benefit from a predictable routine as well as exercise and time to play.
